Had an excellent roundtable discussion with senior figures from Health Authorities that cover Preston to discuss issues around victims of Domestic Violence.
The roundtable was attended by Chris Oliver, Chief Executive, Lancashire and South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust, Dr Sakthi Karunanithi, Director of Public Health, Lancashire County Council, Prof. Silas Nicholls, Chief Executive Lancashire Teaching Hospitals and Margaret Williams, Executive Lead for Continuing Health Care, Lancashire and South Cumbria Integrated Care Board.

We discussed the process that each organisation has in place when victims of Domestic Violence present to their respective services; national and local data relating to abuse and mental health including suicide; the challenges preventing joined up working and how to overcome them.
I am very pleased about the work that is already being done to detect the early signs of domestic violence, however more needs to be done to ensure that no victim falls though the cracks.
