I was invited to plant a wooden Remembrance tribute on behalf of Preston as part of the Royal British Legions plan to mark its Centenary year.
On 8th November, I planted a commemorative stake on behalf of Prestonians in the new 'Constituency Garden' at the House of Commons. I dedicated it to those who gave their all in the various Lancashire regiments over the years.
The garden is located in New Palace Yard, an area of grounds within the Palace of Westminster, to commemorate the men and women from Britain and the Commonwealth who served to protect our freedoms.
All 650 constituencies will be represented in a single place for the very first time to remember the service and sacrifice of those who gave their lives to defend our way of life.
