This year’s Holocaust Memorial Day theme is ‘Bridging Generations’, highlighting the importance of survivors and their families passing on memory and understanding to this and future generations.

At a time when more and more divisive actors are working hard to split communities, it is more vital than ever to learn from those with living memory about the Holocaust and the horrors that hatred can wreak, if left unchecked.
Survivor testimony is so important in offering a personal connection to one of history’s darkest chapters. Hearing these first-hand accounts turns listeners into witnesses of history, inspiring and empowering us to share these important stories and stand against antisemitism and all forms of hatred.
You can watch the first-hand account of Paul Sved BEM in this special webcast by the Holocaust Educational Trust: https://www.het.org.uk/.../outreach-programme/webcast-2026
