Be Flood Ready!

This Flood Action Week (13-19 October), I am urging all Preston constituents to think about being flood ready.

You can do this in a number of ways including: signing up for flood warnings, preparing a flood plan, and checking your long term flood risk.

Aside from the financial cost, the emotional toll of flooding can be devastating and long-lasting. It is important to understand the flood risk for where you live and take steps to protect yourself, your home and your family.

Pictured is the parliamentary launch of the Floodmobile—a unique, mobile Property Flood Resilience (PFR) demonstration unit that brings flood protection to life. It offers a hands-on look at practical, affordable measures that can help protect homes and communities from the devastating impact of flooding.
