Action demanded from Places for People to stop bed bug infestation at Preston housing complex

I am appalled that Places for People still haven’t adequately dealt with the devastating bed bug infestation at Clifton House, #Preston since I first raised this issue, a year ago.

Elderly and vulnerable constituents report that they are living without furniture and carpeting and continue to suffer significantly with their mental and physical health.

I am urgently calling on Places for People to:

1. Comprehensively review the extent of bed bugs and bed bug eggs in each property within Clifton House, and offer alterative accommodation for affected residents.

2. Offer compensation for any furniture, carpets or household items that residents have been forced to personally fund or replace as a result of the ongoing infestation.

3. Provide compensation for the physical, mental and emotional distress that this situation has caused for residents.

4. Implement a full action plan to tackle the infestation and ensure that there are no further reinfestations at Clifton House.
