Mark adds his support to Campaign to stop Remploy Factory Closures

(November 04, 2011)

Mark recently met with GMB Union Members and Remploy Representatives to support their campaign to save the Preston factory from closure.

Remploy is the largest employer of disabled people in the country with 9 factories in the North West and a further 45 factories around the UK, all under threat from closure and privatisation when funding runs out in April 2013.

Remploy provides a way of life and income for hard working people who would rather work than claim benefits.  Now the factories are being treatened with closure by the government, with no promise of a future for thousands of disabled people who want to work.

Remploy began their campaign to save their factory with a bike ride from outside the Guild Hall in Preston on 4th November 2011.

Over 100,000 signatories have already added their support to the campaign to date. If you wish to add your support, please go to: http://www.saveremployfactories.co.uk/
