Mark makes a Bid 4 Business in City Talk

Mark will be joined by newly appointed Chief Executive of Preston Vision Ltd, Eliot Lewis-Ward to speak to members of Preston’s BID (Business Improvement District) about their prospective roles in helping to improve trade in the City today (Friday 16th November 2009).

Preston’s Business Improvement District is a partnership between businesses, local authorities and other organisations to work together to improve the trading environment of Preston City Centre to make it a vibrant, safe, secure and visually appealing place to live, work, invest in and visit.

This business event will be the second in a series of events organised by the North and Western Lancashire Chamber of Commerce, to inform stakeholders of what initiatives the City’s key figures are undertaking to reinvigorate trading conditions within the City Centre. Delegates will have the opportunity to put questions to the speakers at the end of the presentation.

Mark Hendrick MP said: “I am delighted to have been invited to speak at this event and I am looking forward to speaking to members of the industry to gauge what impact the recession has had on their business and what initiatives they have implemented during these challenging times. Also we will discuss what the Government plans to do to help local businesses in the short and long term”.

Mark Whittle, Bid Marketing & Events Manager at the North & Western Lancashire Chamber of Commerce said: “We’re delighted that Mark has agreed to meet with the BID businesses at “City Talk”. It will give them a real opportunity to hear first hand how the work of their MP affects and influences business, particularly in Preston. I’m sure the guests will be happy to meet with Mark and will look forward to having the opportunity to put their questions to him”.
