Preston MP and Prospective Parliamentary Candidate Mark Hendrick will face tough questioning today (5th March 2010), from University students as part of a ‘BBC Question Time’ style hustings event to help them to decide who to vote for at the upcoming General Election.
Mark launches stellar fun-packed Fairtrade Fortnight

Mark will launch this year’s Fairtrade Fortnight on Monday 22nd February from Starbucks Coffee shop in Fishergate Shopping Centre. The theme for this year’s celebrations is entitled ‘The Big Swap’ and will include a swap event on the Flag Market on Saturday 27th February 2010.
Hurrah for Hendrick after Minister Ben Bradshaw rejects bus bid

Mark is celebrating today (Thursday 28th January 2010) as the Secretary of State for the Department for Culture, Media and Sport, the Rt Hon Ben Bradshaw MP, has decided not to list Preston Bus Station as a building with sufficient architectural or historic interest. The decision will mean that the ambitious Tithebarn Redevelopment Scheme can now go ahead, subject to the planning decision of Preston City Council being upheld in the public enquiry. A new state-of-the-art bus station will be sited in a more convenient location within the city, when Tithebarn is given the go head.
Mark gets on his eco-bike for Freedom

Mark will be visiting Preston based company, Freedom Bikes Ltd to have a go on their eco-friendly motorbikes and scooters on Friday 22nd January. The company specialises in low capacity motorcycle, scooters, electric powered mopeds and electric assisted bicycles and is based in the City’s Fishergate Shopping Centre.
Frenchwood Six field questions to Mark

Mark is to pay a visit to Frenchwood Community Primary School on Friday afternoon (22nd January) to talk to a class of Year 6 pupils about politics and his role as a Member of Parliament. The pupils will have the opportunity to quiz Mark about his views on government policy and ask key questions about careers in politics, as well as talking about the Frenchwood and Avenham areas.
Mark awards Normandy Bar to D-Day Veteran

Mark Hendrick will award a Commemorative Normandy Bar to D-Day Veteran, Maurice Weeks at the Harris Museum on Friday 15th January 2010. The Normandy Commemorative Bar is normally awarded to veterans who were involved in the D-Day Landings by the Normandie Memoire, a non-profit organisation run by the Lower Normandy Regional Council in Caen, France.
Mark goes into SPACE

Mark will be visiting The SPACE Centre in Ashton this Friday, 8th January 2010. The centre is the largest multi sensory facility in the UK for people with a wide range of disabilities including Cerebal Palsy, Profound Multiple Disabilities, Autism and brain injuries.

Mark is to pay a visit to Ashton High School on Friday 23rd October at 2.30pm, to oversee ‘The Great Biscuit Election’. Year 10 and 11pupils (electorates) will vote for a biscuit (candidate) which will be the only biscuit allowed to be eaten for the next five years. After the results are in, Mark will hold a question and answer session with the pupils of Ashton High School.

Mark has taken part in the University of Central Lancashire’s (UCLan) Internship Scheme, offering a graduate an eight week work experience placement, based at his Preston Constituency office. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to put the skills learned whilst studying their degree course into working for an MP.
Law Students take on Parliament

Mark organised a day trip to Westminster onWednesday 14th October for 30 Cardinal Newman College students studying A-Level Law. The students attended an interactive workshop, had a tour of Parliament and met with Mark in a question and answer session.
